Our History

Baptist Tabernacle was established in 1944.

Reverend J. D. "Buddy" McMillian began preaching in 1933 and became the pastor at Baptist Tabernacle in the early 1960's.   He preached until 1968.

Buddy McMillian's son, Reverend J. C. McMillian, became pastor in 1969 and preached until he retired in 2001.

J. C. McMillian's son, Reverend Jimmy McMillian, began preaching with his dad in 1984 and became our pastor in 2001.

Since then, the sanctuary has been enlarged, and two new buildings have been added to the original building -  the J.C. McMillian, Sr. Family Life Center and the Food and Clothing Closet Building.

God continues to bless our church and  we are excited to see what the Lord will do through our ministries in the future.  Our church can be what no other church can be!

And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.
